November 10th marked the first day of this year’s Santa sessions at HollyOaks on the Marsh, and what a day it was! Even though I hosted Santa sessions last year, had everything carefully planned, and have been a photographer for 13 years, I’ll admit—I still woke up with butterflies that morning. I wanted everything to be absolutely perfect for the sweet kiddos and their magical experience with Santa.
Of course, the day didn’t go exactly as planned. Early morning rain forced me to scrap my original location for the Santa setup. Cue a moment of panic! But with the help of my hard-working (and super calm) husband—along with the insanely talented Barry from Proper English—we pivoted and pulled it all together seamlessly. Barry worked his magic and created a stunning Santa photo area again this year that captured the charm and magic of Christmas in Savannah.
Throughout the day, we heard wonderful feedback from both parents and kids. The excitement on their faces, the laughter, and the joy of meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus were so heartwarming. Even with a few tears, we received so many kind compliments—during the sessions and even more in the days afterward, which meant the world to me and reminded me why I love being part of creating Christmas memories.
