Savannah Newborn Session: What to Expect

Whether it’s the first baby or baby number five, my excitement for capturing newborns is the same every time. Photographing the sweet newborn phase is one of my absolute favorite things. In fact, the birth of my first son was the catalyst for me pursuing photography as a business! In the beginning, I tried to keep up with all the trends–all the fancy poses, props, colors, etc. However, over time, I realized that what I was drawn to and loved the most in newborn photography was keeping it simple and classic.

At your newborn session, my focus is on creating images that transcend time. I strive to capture portraits that can be framed or placed in an album, becoming cherished heirlooms passed down through generations. To achieve this, I keep the individual baby photos simple using a white blanket and wrap. I also enjoy incorporating heirlooms in your newborn’s portraits, adding a personal touch to the timeless images.

Depending on the newborn experience you select at booking, your session can last thirty minutes (Petite session) or up to three hours (Classic or Milestone Moments Baby Plan session). During the family portion of your session, I will work to capture images of your new little family all together. Then we will do a variety of groupings (mom with baby and other children, mom with baby, sibling photograph, dad and mom with new baby, etc.) as time (and baby) allow.

Throughout the experience, my primary goal is to create a stress-free environment for your family. I aim to capture the essence of this sweet, special time in your lives, ensuring that you have classic, heirloom-quality artwork to display in your home at the end of the process.
