Every December, my heart just feels a little fuller after our Santa sessions. Last month’s Santa Savannah GA weekend at HollyOaks on the Marsh was truly something special, and I’ve been so excited to sit down and share a little behind-the-scenes look at what makes this event one of my favorite traditions of the entire year.
We don’t do your typical “stand in line, sit on Santa’s lap, snap a smile, and go” kind of experience around here. These sessions are designed to feel warm, personal, and genuinely magical for your children. And honestly? For you too.

After hosting these sessions for three years now, I’ve learned that families want more than a photo…they want a moment. A memory. Something they look back on and say, “That felt like Christmas.”
And that’s exactly the heart behind our Santa’s HollyOaks Holiday experience.
There’s something about driving down that historic driveaway that already feels magical. No rush. No crowds. No chaos. Just a beautiful, private space where you and your children can kick off the start to the holiday season.
Our craft and coloring station always ends up being a favorite. Kids can make a craft, color, and work on their wish lists, and sometimes that’s exactly what they need before meeting Santa. And yes…snacks afterward never hurt either. 😉
Mrs. Claus is such a gift to these sessions. So many little ones run to her first, and she has a way of calming even the most timid children. Watching Santa and Mrs. Claus interact with your kids feels like watching a storybook come to life.
With over 14 years of experience photographing little ones, I’ve learned how to keep things flowing in a way that feels calm and comfortable. We have a workflow that ensures we get a posed portrait, some sweet in-between moments, and everything in between.
And listen…not every child loves Santa. Some are unsure. Some cling. Some give Santa the most hysterical side-eye. And I absolutely love those photos just as much as the smiling ones. They capture real personalities, real feelings, and exactly who they were in that moment. Those are memories worth keeping too.

Without fail, every year someone reaches out with:
“I didn’t book in time.”
“We had a conflict this year and couldn’t make it.”
“I’m so sad we had to miss it.”
If you’ve ever felt that way, consider this your friendly nudge. These sessions are limited, they go quickly, and they mean so much to the families who attend. I want to make sure you’re on the list for next year so you don’t miss out.

To every family who came to see us this year—thank you. I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for trusting me with your children’s holiday memories. Thank you for your kindness, your excitement, your support, and for making this event such a joy year after year.
And I have to say this too…I genuinely have such a great time during these sessions. They are just as fun and magical for me as they are for the kids. When I’m editing afterward, even when it means staying up late into the night, I find myself smiling the entire time. It is an incredible privilege to be a small part of creating Christmas magic for so many children in Savannah each year, and I never take that for granted.
A huge thank you as well to everyone who helped make this weekend run smoothly. This community of support means the world to me.
And a very special thank you to HollyOaks on the Marsh for welcoming us back for our third year. It’s hard to imagine this event anywhere else.

We’re already looking ahead, and I am so excited to share that our Savannah GA Santa experience will return to HollyOaks on the Marsh next year. I’ll be sharing dates for 2026 soon, so make sure you join the interest list to be one of the first to know. I’m already excited just thinking about being back on that beautiful property, watching your children’s faces light up all over again. 😍
If you want to be the first to know 2026 dates and be one of the first to book when Santa goes live:
Booking opens to email subscribers every year during Christmas in July. If this event has been on your wish list, this is your chance to make sure 2026 is your year to join us!
